At the age of 10, Åke’s nose broke in a fight with his older brother. In a twist of fate, a visiting landlord noticed the bloodied boy and was captivated by the sight. Åke was “scouted” and brought to the city. His family was compensated in silver. He ended up in a private estate in the North of Old France.
