Today was another R&D day for Syntactic Labyrinths. Me and Erick spent some time discussing and experimenting with ways of lighting Mercury in space. Constantly balancing the light values for the backlight and the keylight.
We ended up using a soft circular area light as the keylight, and a CoronaSun as a fill for the backlight. We were playing around with the atmosphere shape and intensity, sandwich-lighting the planet in between it and the keylight.
I’m really excited to share some more planet renders from our Solar System before moving on to all the other important R&D for Syntactic Labyrinths.
