She comes from a posh and secure background, with a supportive family who could easily provide for her, Boyfriend, and their future child. However, she respects Boyfriend’s desire to build a stable, independent future without leaning on her parents.
When Girlfriend calls Boyfriend to share the news of her pregnancy, she is happy — glowing with excitement for their next chapter together. But she soon notices the cracks in Boyfriend’s composure.
Played by Emma Blacklay-Piech, Girlfriend is gentle yet determined. She embodies optimism, but her happiness slowly becomes tinged with worry as she senses the growing distance between herself and Boyfriend. In Short Film by Blauw Films, Girlfriend represents the life that Boyfriend says he wants — but is secretly terrified to face.
